Community-oriented Project Expand Business Portfolio

Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Feb 1 (ACN) A community-oriented business project in the preparation of dry condiments in the Majagua municipality, in this central province, has now upgraded into a mini-industry which can trade its own agricultural products, a trend valid for other similar projects on the island.

Bienvenido Gonzalez is the coordinator of this business initiative, called “Guamajales” under the state-owned Integral Agriculture Enterprise told ACN reporters that the mini agricultural industry can sell its productions without using any intermediaries along with other crops obtained from the fields by over 3 thousand associates with the project.

Guamajales agri-industry has selling points on the Cuban central highway to offer products to travelers and locals. Some products include seasoners, vegetables, meats, and root vegetables. The mini-industry processes ginger roots among other spices currently on the shelves of the city’s marketplaces.

Another two community-oriented projects are operating in the locality of Majagua: one in the production of furniture and another one in the planting and processing of vegetables and fruits.
