Havana, Feb 1 (ACN) Cuba not only approved private MSMEs, but also state-run companies of this kind like CALISOFT, which expects to meet efficiency challenges and the local demand of its products as a limited and budgeted enterprise.
The company’s only partner for now is the National Computing and Communications Group (GEIC) which, will be provided with services aimed at managing and improving the quality of products and computer services either developed in Cuba or imported, said GEIC representative Maria Marta Hernandez.
The medium company was the result of the conversion of a base state company with experience in software programs since 2012. The enterprise will also offer advice and evaluation of the production of software.
CALISOFT is a limited company with its own management autonomy and decision-taking capability to strike deals and tap its own clients; it will also establish the salaries of its employees.
Cuba now counts on more than 1.6 thousand micro, small and medium companies, out of which 28 are state-run.
