Agroindustrial company in Cuban central province successfully exported chili pepper

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 16 (ACN) The Ceballos Agroindustrial Enterprise, from Ciego de Avila, fulfilled ahead of the end of the year, its plan to export Chile Habanero hot bell pepper, by shipping abroad 70.2 tons of a product that in a short time has conquered markets.

It is a high quality spicy condiment, grown in several regions of the island, mostly in protected cultivation houses, but which in high altitude and cool temperatures has also proven its excellence. Cubans do not have a culture of fresh consumption and Ceballos processes it in small quantities for the domestic market.

On the subject, Wilver Bringas Fernandez, first vice president of the Agricultural Business Group, told the Cuban News Agency that the had achieved in late November over fulfillment of 31% of foreign sales of hot peppers.

So far, shipments have reached 169 tons, 21 more than planned for this year; the plan is also being fulfilled in terms of value, reported Bringas Fernandez, and he commented that this figure could increase because there are still producers with some harvests, and the work will not stop.

Agroindustrial Ceballos is celebrating its 45th anniversary, in a period marked by a deficit of resources, the blockade and the scourge of the Covid-19 pandemic, it continues its efforts to contribute to the country's economy and to the feeding of the people.
