Cuban tourism group Gaviota moves towards digital transformation

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 2 (ACN) The Cuban tourism group Gaviota continues to advance towards the digitalization of its processes, and all its hotel facilities already have the NAUTA PMS for the commercialization (without card) of customers' Internet access time.

According to a statement issued by the tourism entity, work is currently underway to expand coverage and complete the Wi-Fi service in 100 % of the hotel rooms and areas, and the Jardines del Rey, Holguin and Baracoa hotels are already in the process of doing so.

Another step in Gaviota's digitalization has been the implementation and generalization of payment through the Transfermovil and Enzona platforms, as well as the use of Pos Virtuales (TPV) for international clients, actions that eliminate the exchange in exchanging money offices (Cadeca) and cash in the Group's hotels and complementary services.

Based on health protocols to avoid COVID-19 infections, Gaviota worked to eliminate paperwork in areas such as reception, rooms, restaurants and bars, and instead promoted internal channels and the use of QR codes that provide digital information such as menus, reservations, schedules and programming, as well as making payments.

Similarly, the tourism group created and took advantage of communication channels on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Telegram and LinkedIn, which have thousands of users and help disseminate messages.

Along with the Ministry of Tourism, Gaviota is working on the creation of an online pre-check-in platform for all its clients, which will facilitate this process at the reception desk, reducing waiting times and uncomfortable crowds, emphasizes the Group.
