HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 7 (ACN) The Single Window for Foreign Investment began the start-up phase aimed at speeding up the necessary procedures for foreign entrepreneurs developing cooperation projects with Cuba.
Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX by its Spanish acronym), said this tool will be fully operational in January, helping to expedite the approval of projects with foreign capital.
The start-up phase includes software testing and services to investors, MINCEX posted on Twitter.
During the Havana International Fair in November last year, local authorities announced that the Single Window will initially make the procedures easier and faster by 95 percent.
Then there will be other phases for the exporter or importer to apply for their certificates and these are granted online, which requires a very close and successful integration with the corresponding authorities.
A further stage would be when entrepreneurs can deal with their goods online, and know, for example, where they are located.
