Panamanian and Cuban entities to foster trade and reciprocal investments

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 12 (ACN) Representatives of the ProCuba and ProPanama, entities responsible for investment and trade promotion in their respective countries signed a collaboration agreement.

According to experts, the perspectives in the development of relations currently depend on the opportunities offered by companies from Panama to Cuban market and their participation in investments on the Caribbean island, as well as joint projects in tourism promotion.
As part of its potential, Cuba offers biotechnological products for export, health treatments and expansion of educational collaboration, taking into account the existence of a small group of teachers who assess literacy through the Cuban method Yo si puedo (Yes, I Can).
The agricultural sector could also represent a source of economic exchange in both directions, taking into account Panama's need to find a market for these productions, and at the same time introduce the results of the research carried out by the Cuban centers of that sector, which would represent important contributions to the development of these branches, driven by the current government.
Carmen Gisela Vergara, director of the Agency for the Attraction of Investments and Promotion of Exports ProPanama, and Roberto Verrier, Director of the Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Investment ProCuba, signed the document on the Panamanian and Cuban side, respectively.
