Cuban largest fine alcohol distillery restarts operationsHAVANA, Dec 2 (ACN) The largest Fine Alcohol Distillery in Cuba, Alficsa Plus S.A., was reopened last November 30, after the corresponding start-up periods and the necessary productive operation for the full beginning of the industry.

Located in the province of Cienfuegos, Alficsa Plus S.A. is operated by a mixed company with capital invested between AzCuba Sugar Group and a Spanish company and has so far produced 3,300.000 liters of alcohol.
It has established contracts with Havana Club International rum line, as well as with Suchel Camacho perfume industry, and the initial volumes of alcohol may be exported in the first quarter of 2020.
The technological advantages of this industry include the use of Cuban crude oil in steam generation, which reduces production costs by not depending on imported fuel supplies.
This distillery constitutes a paradigm of the productive chain, since its raw material is a by-product (honey) of the sugar production; while the wastes resulting from the distillation process are used for animal feed, and Co2 for beverages and soft drinks.
Alficsa Plus SA is reactivated, now under new business conditions, after a six-year standstill period.
