HAVANA, Dec 2 (ACN) Cuba and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas celebrated 45 years of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations, characterized by the strengthening of positive ties and fruitful exchange in health, education, agriculture and migration.
Dozens of Bahamian students have studied at the Latin American School of Medicine and in other medical specialties in Cuba.
New challenges are on both nations' agendas, such as tackling climate change, natural disaster mitigation and sustainable tourism.
On the diplomatic scene, Bahamas supports Cuba in the permanent effort to eliminate the US blockade imposed almost 60 years ago.
Cubans appreciate that position and in coming years, diplomatic relations between the Bahamas and Cuba will continue with new and greater benefits for both nations.
