Bayamo, July 25 (RHC) – A cultural gala entitled "From the Moncada Barracks to the Future" will be held this evening at the Bayamo Theater to mark National Rebellion Day.
Local singers, performers and guests from other provinces will be on hand as well as national artists, such as singers Mundito González, Eduardo Sosa and Annie Garcéz. Dance companies, including Codanza and Biendanza; the Manzanillo Concert Band; the Group Entre Cuerdas; the San Salvador de Bayamo Chamber Orchestra and actors and actresses from the eastern province of Granma, where Bayamo is located, are set to perform in the gala. Music, dance, poems and choreographic pieces will commemorate the anniversary of the July 26th 1953 attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, the action that sparked the Cuban Revolution.
