Cuban artists to participate in Venice Art BiennialHAVANA, Cuba, May 9 (ACN) Three plastic artists will represent Cuba at the fifty-eighth edition of the Venice Art Biennial, which will open its doors on May 11 in that Italian city, with the title Que vivas en tiempos interesantes (May you live in interesting times).

Norma Rodriguez Derivet, president of the National Council of Plastic Arts in Cuba, referred to the press that the pavilion dedicated to the Island under the title Teaching Environment, will be composed of Alejandro Campins, Alex Hernandez, and Ariamna Contino, in addition to the Italian artist Eugenio Tibaldi.

The works that make up the exhibition, curated by Margarita Sánchez Prieto, are a selection of pieces characterized by the frequent symbolic representation in the work of these three painters, who were also present at the XIII edition of the Havana Biennial, she added.

On May 10, at six o'clock in the afternoon, the official Cuban Pavilion will be inaugurated at the International Art Exhibition, which takes place every two years in Italy.

The Italian contemporary art magazine Segnonline reports that Cuban guests discuss in their pieces the relationship between man and the environment, through the representation and reflection of spaces.

The great event will be attended by 79 artists and 87 national pavilions, distributed in two different exhibitions, one in the Arsenale and the other in the Central Pavilion of the Giardini, according to the official website of the Biennial.
