HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 13 (ACN) Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta has just been nominated for the Goya Prize, awarded by the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, as Best New Actor for his participation in the film "Yuli", by Catalan filmmaker Icíar Bollaín.
The film was nominated in four other categories: Adapted Screenplay (Paul Laverty), Direction of Photography (Álex Catalán), Original Music (Alberto Iglesias) and Sound (Eva Valiño, Pelayo Gutiérrez and Alberto Ovejero).

The film also features star performances by Laura De la Uz, Santiago Alfonso, Keyvin Martínez, the boy Edilson Manuel Olbera, Yerlín Pérez, Andrea Doimeadios and Carlos Enrique Almirante, along with the participation of the Acosta Danza Company.
The choreographies were created by María Rovira and Raúl Reinoso, and the production was in charge of Andrea Calderwood, Claudia Calviño and Juan Gordon.
The Goya Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 2, 2019, said Lester Vila Pereira, press director of Acosta Danza.
