Famous French actor Pierre Richard visits CubaHAVANA, Cuba, Apr 12 (ACN) The famous French actor Pierre Richard attended the opening of the 21st edition of the French Film Festival, held at the Charles Chaplin Theater in Havana.

The film festival was inaugurated with the screening of the film La fiesta de la vida, by Olivier Nakache and Eric Tolédano, presented by the actor Jean-Paul Rouve, one of the members of the artistic embassy at the event, considered a luxury event.
Roberto Smith de Castro, president of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry, and Jean-Marie Bruno, France's ambassador to Cuba, attended the film gala, saying that the meeting, in addition to the screening of films, will strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Speaking also at the opening evening of the festival, scheduled until the 22nd, Luciano Castillo, director of the Cinemateca de Cuba, highlighted the quality of the films to be screened and the presence of relevant actors, directors, scriptwriters and producers.
The event includes a total of 24 titles, including 14 fiction premieres, three documentaries, one animated, five classics and a special presentation of the Cuban-French co-production El otro Cristóbal.
There will also be a tribute to the actress Jeanne Moreau with the screening of the films Elevator for the Scaffold by Louis Malle, Jules and Jim by Francois Truffaut and Mr Klein by Joseph Losey.
Other valuable offerings are Pedrito el loco and El desprecio, classics directed by Jean-Luc Godard and restored by Gaumont, a French film production and distribution company founded in July 1895.
The programme includes three films on the events of May 1968 in Paris and the documentaries Lumiere! The adventure begins, by Thierry Premaux, and The films of my life, by Bertrand Tavernier.
For the first time, the event will occupy all the cinemas on 23rd Street in Havana, the Acapulco cinema, and the works will reach 11 provinces, reported Antonio Mazón, programmer of the Cinemateca de Cuba.
