HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 11 (ACN) The Cuban orchestra Septeto Santiaguero is making a successful tour of the United States to promote its latest album, Raiz (root).
Alden González, its manager, said that the album has been very well received, that the repertoire of the tour has been based on it and the public has reacted wonderfully.
Gonzalez highlighted their performance at the Joe's Pub at The Public in New York on July 28, where the album was officially released in the United States, and where the tickets were quickly sold out on two occasions in which the group offered its art.
Meanwhile, Fernando Dewar, director of the Septeto, said that during the rest of the year, both in Cuba and abroad, there are important presentations, of which he underlined the participation next September at the Medejazz festival in Medellín, Colombia.
He pointed out that their main goal in 2017 is the promotion of this album, so ¨we are working to organize another tour before the end of the year, with the collaboration of the company Freshen Up Arts, Recordings and Musical Editions Company (EGREM ) And Los Canarios Music¨.
Dewar stated that they will also be working together with EGREM in the attempt to materialize for 2018 an event they wish to call Los días del son.
On the current tour by 15 North American cities, the musician emphasized that it is the third in that country in 2017, and the fourth in the 22 years of existence of the group, which in 2015 won the Latin Grammy 2015 in the category Best Traditional Tropical Album with Tributo a Los Compadres: No Quiero Llanto, along Dominican singer Jose Alberto El Canario.
