Book on creator of mambo in Cuban fair

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 13 (ACN) The launching of the book ¡Mambo que rico e', e', e'! in Matanzas city, paid tribute to the creator of this genre Cuban Dámaso Pérez Prado in the year of his centennial.

The book, by Ulises Rodríguez Febles and Yanira Marimón, is a compilation of interviews, essays, and articles by Cuban and foreign intellectuals and musicians on Perez Prado.

This book brings new historical and biographical elements on the musician and the rhythm he created in the 1930s and its origin, according to researcher Rodríguez.

Dámaso Pérez Prado (December 11, 1916 – September 14, 1989) was a Cuban bandleader, singer, organist, pianist and composer). He was called the King of Mambo.
