Placido Domingo arrives in Cuba for concert

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 24 (ACN) Spanish tenor Placido Domingo arrived Wednesday night in Havana for his unique concert this Saturday at the Alicia Alonso Grand Theater.

According to a release by the Cuban Ministry of Culture (MINCULT), the deputy Minister Abel Acosta, along Orlando Vistel, president of the Cuban Institute of Music, received Domingo at the Jose Marti International Airport.
The tenor, upon his arrival, said he was happy to be in Cuba, a country he hadn't visited since he was a teenager.
This Thursday, Domingo will visit the Marti Theater in Old Havana accompanied by the City Historian Eusebio Leal, and later he will be received by Minister of Culture Abel Prieto.
At dusk, he is scheduled for a rehearsal with the National Symphonic Orchestra, open for Art school´s students and members of the lyric theater.
On Saturday, 2 thousand chairs will be placed outside the Alicia Alonso Grand Theater, with large screens to show the concert to those not lucky enough to get tickets
