The Tambores de Bejucal Records their First CD

The Tambores de Bejucal Records their First CDHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 22 (ACN) The Cuban musical group Tambores de Bejucal began its first CD recording on Monday called "Homenaje al Mozambique" (Homage to the Mozambique), dedicated to Pedro Izquierdo Padron, creator of this musical rythym.

The CD is also dedicated to Robelio Perez Lopez (Yeyo), founder of the group who passed away last August at the age of 85, and also to the 54th anniversary of the group and birth of the charangas of Bejucal in 1962.

Alexis Hernandez Perez, Director of the group, said that the producer of its new CD will be Cuban musician Emilio Vega who also worked in its second CD "50 are 50" which got the group a Honor Award in Cubadisco 2014.

The Tambores de Bejucal were inspired in the popular tradition of the Street congas genre. They interpret folkloric music, rumba complexes like Guanguanco, Yambu, Columbia, the Mozambique and Conga.

The musical group contributes in the training of musicians in the province of Mayabeque working with children and amateurs in the community.
