HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 10 (acn) Cuba´s Culture Minister Abel Prieto Jimenez highlighted on Wednesday in Holguin the good work underway by the Hermanos Saiz Association as an artistic youth institution in the country.
The Cuban official recognized the work of the organization while inaugurating the headquarters of the AHS in the province of Holguin after participating in a working meeting of the entity´s National Board and visited the cultural installations in the eastern province.
Prieto Jimenez added that opening new cultural centers helps improve spaces for debates and work of the Hermanos Saiz Association and urged them to strengthen their institution in different sectors of culture and art.
The new ¨casa del joven creador¨ known by the Young artists is located in the city´s historic section and was characterized by the Culture Minister as a space where different projects are exhibited in support of the province´s cultural artistic manifestations.
As part of the opening of the new center, a spacy area reconstructed and expanded in the centric Marti and Maximo Gomez Streets, the Verbal Supplement Exhibition was inaugurated with pieces that reflect historic and contemporary issues by young art creators from Holguin.
In his tour to Holguin, Abel Prieto was accompanied by Luis Antonio Torres Iribar, first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in Holguin and the President of the Association of Writers and Artists, Miguel Barnet among other political and cultural leaders.
