HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 1 (acn) The Confucius Institute at the University of Havana has opened registration for citizens who want to learn Chinese, considered one of the most difficult languages to learn.
Registration will be opened till September 6, reads the announcement adding that requirements include that applicants be 17 years of age and older and graduated from 10th senior school grade to apply for a total 300 capacities for adults, though another 120 capacities will be offered to children between 11 and 16 years.
The Confucius Institute, founded in November 2009 as a result of bilateral cooperation between China and Cuba, promotes and teaches the Chinese Language and the culture of the Asian nation; it also fosters academic exchange between the two countries.
The institute also promotes educative programs on Chinese economy, alternative medicine, visual arts and other traditional and cultural areas.
