HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 15 (acn) We are very happy with the result of the tour of Puerto Rico of the National Ballet Company (BNC) and the staging there of Giselle, said today in this capital the company's director, Alicia Alonso.
For the eighth time the BNC tours Puerto Rico and this time it brought there its version of Giselle, the piece with which the prima ballerina assoluta triumphed internationally several years ago.
Attending the press conference held at the headquarters of the National School of Ballet were Viengsay Valdes, Anette Delgado, Dani Hernandez and Ernesto Diaz, the prima ballerinas and leading dancers that made the presentations in San Juan.
During the visit, the President of the Bar Association of Puerto Rico, Mark Anthony Bimbela, presented the BNC Director with the Presidential Medal forged in bronze and the Saber of General Quintin Banderas, which was used by that mambi combatant during the War of Independence in Cuba.
