Worker of Hotel Gran Club, in Santa Lucia Beach, he won the award in the Asian country for best Latin American cookbook, entitled Sabor y saber, and published in 2015 by Camagüey's publishing house Ácana.

Some 26 000 works from more than 200 countries competed in the event.

Rodriguez was awarded in the 2011 edition of the tournament by his book Useful Cooking.

"Sabor y saber" consists of recipes for soups, rice, fish, seafood, meat, eggs, vegetables and viandas, as well as sauces and data about dissimilar food, among other content.

One of the subjects corresponds to culinary tastes of personalities such as Simon Bolivar, Fidel Castro, Camilo Cienfuegos and Ernesto Che Guevara.

The author said in his dialogue with the Cuban News Agency (ACN) that he has already written about 50 pages of a new text, which he will send to the next meeting of the aforementioned event.

He stated that the work, based on Camagüey's cuisine, inserts dishes created in the course of over 400 years, including rice with eggplant, and the three ballenatos (fish, shrimp and beef), respectively, of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Created in 1995, the Gourmand Awards contest has been held in various countries, including Germany, France, Sweden and China.
