Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba to perform in Turkey

Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba to perform in TurkeyHAVANA, Cuba, May 25 (acn) Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba (LADC) will perform on Friday for the first time in Turkey during the end of the 2015-2016 theater season of the Is Sanat Istanbul Concert Hall, announced a press release by the company.

The public of Istanbul will have the opportunity to enjoy Cuba vibra!, a show that externalizes the Spanish and African footprint of Cubans in their daily life and popular culture.
Through the cha cha, mambo, rumba, conga and bolero rhythms, Lizt Alfonso, choreographer and director of the group, will present this creation that uses dance and music as features of Cuban identity during the last 60 years.
With over 20 years of existence, LADC has achieved wide international repercussion for the excellence of its zapateo (tapping), as it did in the awards ceremony of the Latin Grammies, held at the Grand Garden Arena of Las Vegas on November 19.
With a corps de ballet composed mostly of women, it has also stood out for its extraordinary combination of Spanish dance and Cuban folklore, which distinguishes it from other troupes of the Caribbean island.
Cuba vibra! was previously presented at the Cutler Majestic Theater of Boston, the Mc Carter Theater Center of New Jersey, and The Lincoln Theater of Washington, as part of a tour of the United States late last year.
The Is Sanat Istanbul Concert Hall is considered to be the most prestigious artistic and cultural center of Turkey and since its creation in 2000 has hosted great figures of classical music, like French-American cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Russian pianist and orchestra director Vladimir Ashkenazy.
