Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, Mar 31 (acn) Cuba has cooperation agreements with over a thousand foreign universities in all academic fields, allowing concrete actions for the scientific development of the island, asserted Higher Education Deputy Minister Oberto Santin.
International cooperation has enabled Cuba not only to enrich the results of postgraduate and doctoral programs, but also to open possibilities to show how much can Cuban professionals do in terms of research, he pointed out.
Santin told the Cuban News Agency that foreign projects have created development opportunities for science and higher education centers in the country, but that the potential they offer can be further used.
He stated that Cuban higher education needs exchanges with other nations if it aspires to strengthen the quality of the educational process, mainly in subject matters related to climate change, food and energy.
In addition, he said that agreements with several countries have increased, among them France, Italy and Germany, and in the specific case of Latin America, with Brazil.
