Cuban Contemporary Art Works Presented in Rome

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb Cuban Contemporary Art Works Presented in Rome3 (acn) An exhibition of Cuban contemporary art, comprising more than 100 works by artists of the island, was inaugurated at the Cervantes Institute of the Italian capital, Prensa Latina reported.

Entitled Basic Instinct: Papers from Cuba, the exhibition puts at the disposal of the public the work of 58 artists, which can be admired until April 2.
With the common denominator of the use of paper as raw material or fundamental support, paintings, drawings, graphic works in various forms, photographs, installations, collages and object books intermingle.
Sponsored by the Cuban embassy to Italy, in cooperation with the Cervantes Institute in Rome and the National Council of Fine Arts of Cuba, art is displayed in all its versatility and power, in an experience that seeks to delve into historic aspects of common relations between both peoples and cultures.
In this regard, the island's ambassador Alba Soto, said that this is the broadest and most comprehensive exhibition of contemporary art presented in Rome in recent years, not only for the unquestionable quality of the works, but also for gathering 102 works by 58 artists in this great project.
