HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 19 (acn) The Cuban music group Septeto Santiaguero, which recently won a Latin Grammy and was a nominee to the Grammies, announced a concert at the Lincoln Center of New York, on June 28, during a tour of the United States.
Authorities of the group said that confirmed for that month are presentations in the cities of Miami and New Jersey, while in July it will take part in summer festivals in Canada, to then be present in stages of Europe until September, Cubasi reported on February 18.
They pointed out that in early March it will perform in Venezuela and starting from Mach 16 it will do the same in the Dominican Republic, where it will promote, with Jose Alberto El Canario, the CD No quiero llanto-Tributo a Los Compadres, made together with him and with great success at the Grammy awards.
They also referred to the participation in the jazz festival of Barranquilla, Colombia, in September, and to preparations for a national tour, in addition to that planned for municipalities and neighborhoods of Santiago de Cuba, where locals enjoys its music and share triumphs.
Another project that excites members of the Septeto Santiaguero is the opening of a place that under the name La Pachanga, located in the central Enramadas Street, will be the headquarters of the septet and a space to socialize with its fans and especially with the movement of dancers in the city.
The representatives of the septet showed once again their joy for the Grammy won by Panamanian Ruben Blades, in the category of Tropical Latin album, in which they competed along with Juan Luis Guerra, Victor Manuelle and Guaco.
Because of their age, they grew up listening to the interpretations of the Panamanian musician, whom they thank for his cooperation for the album Vamos pa la fiesta, also nominated to the Latin Grammies, as well as for the phrase about Santiago de Cuba with which he opens his winning album, Son de Panama.
