HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 17 (acn) The Scientific Council of the University of Holguin announced in that city today the convening of the 10th edition of the International Seminar on Canadian Studies and the 10th Conference on Foreign Languages, Communication and Culture.
The meeting will be held on April 27-29 at the Guardalavaca resort, sponsored by the Department of Canadian Studies of the University, founded a decade ago.
Reynaldo Velazquez, rector of the educational institution, told the press that the main objective of the meeting is to favor the exchange of ideas and experiences among professionals, academicians and students that strengthen the bonds of friendship between Cuba and the northern nation.
He specified that the two meetings will be held simultaneously and will include topics related to the history, customs and identity of the country of the Great Lakes.
The Department of Canadian Studies at the University of Holguin is one of seven departments that make up the Cuban network dedicated to this subject, located in institutions of higher education of Havana, Matanzas, Pinar del Rio, Ciego de Avila and Santiago de Cuba.
