Cuba and Nicaragua to Sign Academic Cooperation ProjectHAVANA, Cuba, Feb 17 (acn) Cuba and Nicaragua will sign today in Havana new scientific-academic cooperation agreements that will contribute to increase the professional level of the staff dedicated to the protection of the health of plants, animals and men.

The signing will take place at the International Convention Center in the capital's Playa municipality, where the International Congress University 2016 will run until Friday.
Tania Rivas, Director of International Relations of the National Center for Agricultural and Livestock Health (CENSA) told ACN in an exclusive interview that the new project will be done with the Agrarian University of Nicaragua.
She explained that the work project includes the exchange of knowledge and technologies that will contribute to improve diagnostic processes in animals and plants and to the development and organization of some of the Central American country's productive chains.
Rivas pointed out that Cuba will contribute to the implementation of quality systems in Nicaragua for both the development of higher education and the certification of food products, with which the Central American nation will be able to export some items of great demand in the international market.
Another aspect of this cooperation, she specified, is that it will help to perfect the diagnostic system for possible diseases and viruses at the border.
The expert added that the CENSA will also sign a cooperation agreement with a French company that carries out similar research works in the animal and plant area, which has a subsidiary in Guadeloupe.
