HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 25 (acn) Scholars, politicians and several Nobel Peace laureates are attending in Havana the 2nd International Conference "With all for the Good of All" to reflect on the ideas of Cuban National Hero Jose Marti.
The forum, sponsored by the UN Education, Science and Cultural Organization—UNESCO--, will run till January 28, date of birth of the National Hero.
According to the director of the Marti Program, the forum aims at encouraging debates based on plurality of thought with Marti´s ethical thinking at the service of dialog and understanding.
Participants will address major problems pending on humanity and current options to solve them, including difficulties and risks posed by new information technologies and the necessary access by all to education and culture to fully meet human rights.
The conference will also look at the significance of solidarity in today´s world; the presence and universality of Marti´s thinking, the importance of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States—CELAC—and its declaration of this part of the world as a Zone of Peace.
