Latin Grammy winners celebrate award in Eastern Cuba

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Nov 25 (acn) With a special concert at Pepe Sanchez Trova House, in this city, the Santiaguero Septet celebrated yesterday its 2015 Latin Grammy Award in the category of Best Traditional Tropical Album.

In the Hall of the Greats, and in front of a large representation of Cubans and foreigners, the band played some of the hits of the phonogram ¨ Tributo a Los Compadres. No quiero llanto, ¨with which they were awarded last Thursday 21st at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas, United States.

Fernando Dewar, director of the group, expressed the satisfaction of celebrating at the Trova House, a space that legitimizes this city as the birthplace of that genre and son.

Being here after receiving the award is uplifting, he said, because it is our house of always, a space of regular presentations where we are accompanies by the people of this city, to which we dedicate this result, among many reasons, for having provided a huge musical legacy.

The CD pays tribute to Los Compadres duo, icon of Cuban musical history, so its recognition commits us even more to continue working with quality , he noted.

Dewar added they already have in process their ninth album, which is already being recorded and is expected to be ready next year under EGREM Company.
He also noted the interest of the Dominican salsa singer Jose Alberto El Canario, co-producer of the winning album, to make a concert in this city to celebrate with them the Latin Grammy.

Nominated in previous editions of this event with the albums Oye mi Son santiaguero (2011) and Vamos pa' la fiesta (2013), with this same work, the popular group wins for the first time one of the most significant prizes of the Spanish American music scene.
