Cuban and US artists get together in Cienfuegos

CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Nov 11 (acn) More than 40 artists from Cuba and United States will participate with their works from today and until November 14 in the 5th edition of Visuarte 2015 in the province of Cienfuegos.

The event, organized by the National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC by its Spanish acronym) in the territory, aims to contribute to the artistic dialogue between artists of different aesthetic and generational trends, to establish confluences that bring art into everyday life.
Ian Rodriguez Perez, vice president of UNEAC in Cienfuegos, told ACN it will be a theoretical event with topics related to contemporary Cuban art, and will be attended by renowned artists, specialists and critics such as Leandro Soto, Nelson Herrera, Grisel Pujala, Massiel Delgado, among others.
The jury is composed of fine artists Arturo Montoto and Leandro Soto, and art critics Jose Fernandez, Nelson Herrera and Jorge Luis Urra Maqueira .
Sculptures, installations, paintings and performance actions will be primarily the artistic expressions that will be evaluated and exhibited these days in south central Cuba.
