Solo exhibition by American photographer Peter Turnley in HavanaHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 6 (acn) The prestigious photographer Peter Turnley (Indiana, 1955) will open next November 13 at the National Museum of Fine Arts, in Havana (MNBA by its Spanish acronym), the first solo exhibition of an American photographer in the history of that institution.

Under the name Moments of the human condition, the exhibition is an anthological show of 40 years of his photographic work through 130 images, curator Niurka Fanego Alfonso told the press.
Turnley will offer also the lecture ¨ photographing the human condition¨ and will make the presentation of the text ¨Cuba. The grace of the Spirit¨, on November 18, as part of the program of activities the MNBA has prepared for this two months.
Directors of the institution also stressed the importance of the reopening of the Cathedrals of The Carpenters, on December 18, to complete the restorative process suffered by the sculpture located from several years on the facade of the MNBA building.
The First Forum Rebirth (Renaissance), organized by the Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, in which issues of art, politics, ideology and environment, and their interaction will be discussed as part of the Week of Italian Culture, from November 24 to 26, at the theater of this cultural entity.
The inauguration of the expo ¨ Jose Antonio Medina Soto: arte y oficio de ilustrar, ¨agreed on December 19 at the gallery Antonio Rodríguez Morey of MNBA Information Center, will be especially for children and youth.
This exhibition falls within the context of the children's creative workshop ¨My illustrated world¨ that belongs to the MNBA Department of Educational Services, which is about to celebrate 50 years of its creation.
The institution will also host in these two months the Festival of Contemporary Music in Havana , the project ¨Luces y Sombras¨ (Lights and shadows) of the Office of the Historian of the City, with the screening of the documentary about the plastic artist Carmen Fiol, and the usual Jazz Season in Fine Arts.
They will continue showing the exhibitions Ritmo, Altavoz contra la pared and El eco del último disparo, as well as activities organized every Sunday morning for children in the courtyard of the MNBA.
