HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 28 (acn) Matteo Renzi, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic said on Wednesday at Havana's Higher Arts Institute that his country is interested in strengthening cultural ties with Cuba.
During a meeting attended by Miguel Diaz-Canel, member of the Political Bureau and first vice president of the Cuban councils of State and Ministers, the Italian premier said his country aims at being a world power in the field of culture.
We are ready to conduct exchanges from the cultural and university points of view with Cuba, since 50 years ago you had the initiative of creating a center like this, where all the arts converge and where young people share not only their lives, but also their emotions, the Italian Prime Minister said.
Renzi stressed the willingness of his government to know Cuban culture and all the opportunities that this field could bring the world in the future.
The Italian Prime Minister arrived in Cuba on Tuesday night, with the purpose of strengthening bilateral relations with Cuba.
