ALBA Culture Ministers meet in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 17 (acn) The Sixth Meeting of Culture Ministers of the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America (ALBA) will start today at the Havana´s Conventions Center.

The Ministers will review in this meeting, which is hosted by Cuba for the first time, the multinational project ALBA Cultural, to boost it in the 12 countries that make up the bloc
The officials will discuss how the culture has worked in favor of the safeguarding of Latin American and the Caribbean identities since the Alliance was implemented.
The ALBA Cultural project was approved in the bloc´s Summit held in Venezuela in 2008 to promote integration among member countries through culture. In its first meeting Culture Ministers chose Cuba as the country to lead the coordination of actions in this field.
This meeting will precede the Third Meeting of Culture Ministers of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, to be held hours later at the same venue.
