HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 3 (acn) Young Cuban artists taking part at the 39th Festival of the Political Song demanded on Sunday the return to their country of the territory illegally occupied by the US Naval Base in Guantanamo.
During a tour of the Caimanera and Boqueron communities, bordering the US military base, the artists exchanged with the locals and demanded the return of that piece of land under illegal US occupation for over a century now.
The Political Song Festival is the oldest cultural event of its kind organized by the Hermanos Saiz Association and on this 39th occasion it is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Casa de Las Americas magazine and the Frontera local group, which pioneered the movement of professional singers in this eastern territory.
