HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 10 (acn) Vadim Gagloev, CEO of Russia's Rosgoscirk Circus, told ACN his interest to have a representation in Cuba to establish a platform for international joint work with the National Circus of Cuba toward the other countries of the Americas.
At a press conference at Habana Riviera Hotel, concerning the participation of the famous institution in the 14th Summer Circus International Festival Cubacirco 2015, Gagloev praised the quality of Cuban artists and said he has been leading the restoration of Cuba's longstanding ties with the then Soviet Circus.
He said that it is not to rebuild that relationship but to overcome it, according to the current circumstances and developments occurred since then.
Gagloev explained that in this second stay in Havana –he participated in the previous edition of Cubacirco- he spoke with colleagues from Mexico, Peru and other nations to develop the initiative to extend the joint collaboration.
He recalled that the Cuban circus is very proud to be based in the Russian school and having curricula based on these methods, which should be updated and improved.
Mikhail Kamynin, Russia's ambassador to Cuba , expressed his pride in meeting with Cuban journalists now talking about the circus but sometimes about biotechnology or other issues, and stressed that today the relations between the two countries are at their best.
Oleg Chesnokov, first deputy director of Rosgoscirk, invited the Cuban circus artists to participate in the Master Award, which takes place in the city of Sochi and differs from other international events as it evaluates the performance of an entire year and includes art directors, musicians and choreographers, among other specialties.
