HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 16 (acn) The 8th International Congress of Design, Formas 2015, will gather today professionals from some 20 countries, interested in promoting the creative activity as a key tool to make a difference in the market and generate greater welfare.
Until next Thursday at the Palace of Conventions in Havana, researchers, academics and entrepreneurs will exchange on challenges of design and their implications for achieving sustainable development.
Sergio L. Peña, rector of the Higher Institute of Design (ISDI by its Spanish acronym), will open today the scientific sessions of the Congress with a conference that will emphasize the sense of responsibility of this innovative endeavor and those who exercise it in the economic and social development of a country under transformation.
On the opening day the renowned German designer Gui Bonsiepe will share his experiences with about 400 delegates through the lecture Recuperando la Proyectualidad.
Formas 2015 will be on session in seven parallel events dedicated to core issues such as the necessary relationship between design and industry, cultural and social identity, innovation and training of professionals.
The exhibition associated with the Congress, a space for companies, advertising agencies, designers and creators to showcase the best of their professional work, projects, design solutions and offering services, will also be inaugurated today.
According to the program, workshops, book presentations, exhibitions of projects and other actions will be included during the days of the convention, in a new attempt to call attention to the usefulness of design in every way for progress.
