HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 2 (acn) The world famous and emblematic Cuban band Los Van Van will perform again in Puerto Rico, on this occasion as part of its international tour to celebrate its 45 years of artistic life. This presentation will be a dance music show on Saturday, August 22, starting from 8:30 p.m. at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, the www.cubasi.cu Web site reported on Monday.
The tour will begin on August 7 in Washington DC, and will continue in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Denver, San Juan and Miami, Florida, among other cities.
According to a press release, other well known Cuban groups will perform together with Los Van Van.
The legacy of Juan Formell, founder of the band in 1969, was left to his son Samuel Formell, who undoubtedly follows the footsteps of his father, as he has been doing in recent years as musical director of the group.
In this tour Samuel will present his latest musical production entitled Fantasia (Fantasy), an album to which his father made a strong contribution before his death.
