Cuba's National Symphony Orchestra for the First Time in Germany

HAVANA, Cuba May 15 (acn) The National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba is presently carrying out an extensive program of presentations in the city of Düsseldorf, as part of its first visit to Germany.

The musicians were invited to the Tonhalle Theater of Düsseldorf, where they performed pieces by Cuban composers under the direction of Enrique Perez, sources of the Ministry of Culture told the press on Friday.
During the presentation, the ensemble was joined by guitarist Joaquin Clerch, who is also a Professor at the Robert Schumann Higher Institute in Düsseldorf.
Founded in 1959, Cuba's National Symphony Orchestra has worked together with renowned artists such as conductor Claudio Abbado, singer Jose Carreras or cellist Mstislaw Rostropowitsch.
