Argentine musician will perform in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 12 (ACN) The renowned Argentine accordion player and chamamé musician Chango Spasiuk will give a concert today at the Museum of Fine Arts in this city.

Titled Sonidos de la Tierra Colorada (Sounds from the Red Land), the presentation has its roots in the 38th International Festival Jazz Plaza 2023, where Spasiuk met the acclaimed quena player Rodrigo Sosa, who is joining him in this tour.

In recent statements to the press, the Argentine composer pointed out that Cuba is culturally close to his native country and emphasized his will to always return to island.

Chango Spasiuk, author of ten solo albums in Argentina, won the Carlos Gardel Award for Best Folklore Artist in 2006 and received an honoris causa doctorate from the Universidad Nacional de Misiones, Argentina, for his cultural work.
