HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 20 (acn) Diana Fuentes described her concert series From East to West as a welcome reunion with the Cuban public at a press conference in this city about the tour that will take her to several provinces to promote her album Planeta Planetario.
The singer, best known in the country after the success of her first phonogram entitled Amargo pero dulce, will initially tour scenarios of Matanzas, Villa Clara, Sancti Spiritus, Cienfuegos, Pinar del Rio and Havana from February 28 to March 13.
Fuentes announced that she will have meetings with students of art schools during the tour, and will seek an intimate connection with her followers by proposing tracks of her second album, synthesis of Afro-Cuban sounds, electronic music, hip-hop, bolero and other genres.
About other projects, the artist said she is preparing songs for a new CD, which she will begin recording later this year, with the production of Eduardo Cabra, her husband and member of the award-winning Puerto Rican group Calle 13 .
Diana, known by Cubans thanks to songs like Música de fondo y Luna de vino tinto, stressed that her next single will tell stories enlivened with a more acoustic sound, always with love songs.
The Cuban singer is involved in a project to highlight and condemn violence against women in Puerto Rico, where she lives, and is also making new video clips of the hits Asuntos de invención y Otra realidad.
With the intention to soon organize presentations also in the east of the country, Diana Fuentes said she will be included among the musicians who will come to the island to participate at Leo Brouwer Chamber Music Festival at the end of this year.
