SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Feb 3 (acn) Samples of theater, dance, visual arts, music and literature of Bahamas will be presented at the 32nd edition of the Caribbean Festival, to be held in Santiago from July 3 to 9, 2015, which will be dedicated to this nation.
Alma Adams, Ambassador of that country in Cuba, said her delegation will offer an artistic panorama that will get both peoples closer, because although they do not share the same language , do have many ties.
Adams expressed her satisfaction with the city of Santiago de Cuba, especially for the hospitality of its inhabitants, and highlighted the cozy image showed by the city, which this year marks its 500th anniversary of founded, a unique opportunity.
Edison Dames, deputy director of Culture in the Bahamas Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, said that they will bring to the festival traditional dances, poems, games for children and cultural events for young people as well as typical dishes from the cuisine of that Caribbean island.
Cuba is a country of drums, and as we shared African roots, we will play that rhythm here to show how we communicate through them, something that distinguishes us, Dames referred.
For 35 uninterrupted years, the Caribbean Festival is held in Santiago city as a space for exchange between the peoples of the region, and this year's edition will be devoted to the 62nd anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
