Omara Portuondo Gives Concert to Launch CD Black magicHAVANA, Cuba, Jan 19 (acn) The concert given this Sunday by Omara Portuondo and pianist Roberto Fonseca at Mella Theater in this city to present the album Black Magic was unique and mysterious, huge in sound and call.

Produced by Colibri record label, the phonogram released now with Juan Manuel Ceruto´s arrangements allowed to show the greatness and versatility of "... a diva of this time" as she was called by poet Miguel Barnet, who praised her during the preamble of the concert.

In this concert of Omara, our old friend, forever young, we are also honored by the presence of a singular poet, Antonio Guerrero, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Barnet, also president of the National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists, said.

Guided by Omara´s voice, the audience cried, sang, clapped and remembered anthological hits like Veinte Años, Adiós felicidad, Tal vez, Bésame mucho y Contigo en la distancia, the latter played in duet with the young singer David Blanco. The question of the night was resolved when the Diva of the Buena Vista Social Club shared the stage with Michael Sierra Miranda, El Micha, one of the most famous representatives of the urban genre in Cuba, to sing a different and very cool version of the song Ogguere, amazement for many of the attendees.

I too believe in black magic, Omara told an audience that remembered with her friends as important as Luis Carbonell, Juan Formell and Ibrahim Ferrer.

It is an honor for me to do this concert full of passions, emotions and plenty of feelings, said Robertico Fonseca, who brought on stage to renowned instrumentalists like Yandy Martínez , Javier Salvas, Roberto García, Yaroldy Abreus and Ramses Rodriguez.

Before concluding, Orlando Vistel, president of the Cuban Institute of Music, granted a special recognition to the promoter Nisia Agüero by her contribution to cultural work in Cuba.
