Jazz Plaza International Festival Kicked off in CubaHAVANA, Cuba, Dec 18 (acn) With an evening of music for all the senses, the 30th edition of Jazz Plaza International Festival opened yesterday in Havana, an event where to enjoy the best of the genre in Cuba and the region.

Mella Theatre hosted a golden moment with a concert starring Bobby Carcasses and his son Robertico who gathered on stage to a luxury cast made up by Zenaida Romeu and her Camerata, among other artists.

No one knows the things that happen but the most important is that this is our 30th anniversary and we are happy for many reasons, one of them is that Barbara Castillo, who promoted this event, is with us today, Bobby Carcasses said while inaugurating the Festival.

The concert started with a song dedicated to Benny Moré, which seduced by that unique ability that Latin Jazz has to understand sounds of various latitudes.

Along with the Camerata Romeu, Carcassés played the classic track Caravana, a rumba version that between violins, brass, percussion, bass and flute by American Andrea Brachfeld, raised the public.

The words sung by Bobby, to greet the three Cuban antiterrorist fighters who just returned from their wrongful conviction in the United States become significant moment.

For today's session, the Jazz Plaza programs another jewel of the young genre in Cuba, with the presentation of Mother Earth Project, led by saxophonist Michel Herrera at Mella Theater.

In other places such as Plaza Cultural House and Cuban Art Factory, groups like Climax, Ruy López-Nussa and the Academy and Magic Sax Quartet, among others, will perform.
