  Moviemakers to Discuss Industry in Havana Film Festival   HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 10 (acn) The American producer Dan Halsted and critic Charles Tesson are some of the personalities who will participate today in this city in the discussions devoted to industry sector in the 36th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema.
Halsted will give a lecture at Vedado Hall, in the Hotel Nacional, to show his experience in Hollywood and independent American circuit, segments in which he has produced blockbusters such as The Untouchables, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Evita, The Suicide Virgins, among others.
Meanwhile Tesson will talk to filmmakers and experts on the Critics Week at Cannes Film Festival, of which he is the artistic director since 2012, activity that he shares with the release of several cinema specialized magazines.
As part of the projections in 23 y 12 cinema, there will be inaugurated a sample of homage to Ulrich Seidl, considered one of the most representative figures of Austrian contemporary cinema, who will also present a lecture on his creative method during the event.
Today’s film exhibitions programming includes a sample of African American independent cinema at Fresa y chocolate Cultural Film Complex and a homage to the Uruguayan filmmaker Mario Handler, in the room 3 of Infanta cinema.
Two documentaries produced this year on Cuban filmmakers Octavio Cortázar and Fernando Perez will be screened at Caracol hall in the National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists.
The 36th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema will conclude with the granting of the Coral prizes, on December 14, in the different categories in a contest involving more than one hundred films from twenty countries.
