Camaguey, Cuba, April 10 (ACN) Squares, theaters, schools, penitentiaries and public places in this eastern Cuban province will be the scenarios for the 31st Provincial Music Fest—April 12-14—with works and performances attended in-person and online.
The fest is dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Culture Center system, the work of arts instructors and the 10th birthday of the local Rumba Laroye ensemble.
The event’s opening will stage a work entitled “Mi Community goes Partying” at the central Joaquin de Aguero Plaza and the work will later travel to all municipalities in the province, said Maribel Sixto, music methodology with the Provincial Culture Center.
An amateur music project will take its performances to local penitentiaries, while a workshop on chorus will be hosted by the Nuevo Mundo Cinema Compound.
Other activities on the agenda include the screening of films, music concerts for all ages, like a cultural space dedicated to senior citizens at the Manuel Ramon Silva elderly’s home in town.
Finally, the event called “Cuba que linda es Cuba” will be special feature on the festival’s program, while the closing gala will be hosted by the Avellaneda theater, where acknowledges will be granted to art instructors and musicians highly popular and prestigious in the province of Camaguey.
