HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 3 (acn) Cuba's National ballet Company (BNC), directed by prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso, will perform in Italy and Canada starting from December 10.
With this tour of Italy and Canada, the BNC closes 2014 with great success, a fruitful period for the troupe that hosts Havana's International Ballet Festival every year.
According to the company's Press Department, from December 10th through the 14th, at the famous Regio Theater of the city of Turin, Italy, the dancers will perform the Cuban version of Giselle, choreographed by the director of the BNC on the original by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot.
Likewise, the ballet Don Quixote, created by the famous Cuban ballerina and with the artistic-choreographic direction of Marta Garcia and Maria Elena Llorente on the original by Marius Petipa and the version by Alexander Gorski, wil be presented on the stage on December 17-21.
The emblematic company will also dance at the Performing Arts Center of Burlington, Canada, on December 18-20, this time the Nutcracker, by Alicia Alonso, on the original by Lev Ivanov, with music by Piotr Ilich Chaikovski and script on the original by Marius Petipa.
