Cuban publishing house works on bilingual project

 MATANZAS, Cuba, Jan 4 (ACN) Agustina Ponce Valdés, director of the publishing house Ediciones Vigía, announced that her staff is preparing "The Diary of Anne Frank/Apnea of Time", a bilingual book by Agnieska Hernández Díaz scheduled for publication in 2023.
 
 The translation from Spanish into English has been entrusted to Linda Howe, an American academic and professor who maintains close ties with Vigía, a source of handmade books since April 1985.
 
 Ms. Howe remarked that there are many versions of “The Diary of Anne Frank”—from the writings of the teenager Anne Frank while she was in hiding with her German family of Jewish origin during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands—but she claims she was surprised by Agnieska's work, which manages to be understood at both local and universal level.
