HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 30 (acn) Thereza Colly More, director of the Ballet School of the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, showed on Thursday her interest in establishing relations with its counterpart of Cuba, which made her come to this capital for the first time.
Invited to the 34th edition of Havana's International Ballet Festival, Colly More emphasized that her institution is about to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its founding and has about 140 students, the age of which ranges from three to 32.
She explained that once these students conclude their studies, they go to the university because they don't have a company to join, since there isn't any in Saint Lucia.
Opening the doors of exchanges with Cuba is our greatest wish and I'm sure that the government of Saint Lucia will be satisfied if this is accomplished, considered Colly in an exclusive interview with ACN.
She praised the methodology of the Cuban Ballet School and the technical rigor of Cuba's National Ballet Company (BNC), directed by Alicia Alonso and famous worldwide.
