U.S. Artist Says U.S. Blockade of Cuba is Anachronistic

U.S. Artist Says U.S. Blockade of Cuba is AnachronisticHAVANA, Cuba, Oct 28 (acn) U.S. photographer Rebekah Bowman described on Monday as anachronistic the economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba, one day before a resolution against that criminal policy of the U.S. government is voted at the United Nations.

In statements to ACN, after inaugurating her exhibition Retrato de la Escuela Cubana de Ballet (Portrait of the Cuban School of Ballet), at the capital's Jose Marti Memorial, the artist asserted that many people in her country don't know the existence of that coercive measure against the Caribbean nation.

She said that the exhibition intends to open a window between the two peoples so the beauty, strength and resistance of Cubans and the huge richness of their culture, practically ignored by most of her compatriots, is known.

Miguel Cabrera, historian of Cuba's National Ballet Company, underlined that the exhibition is a real luxury because it shows the sweat and tears entering the world of ballet cost, how professors sculpt future dancers, the dynamics of classes and rehearsals, and the existence of a booming generation that will honor founders.

Ramona de Saa, current director of the National School of Ballet, praised the art and persistence of Rebekah, who for three years took hundreds of photographs, a group of which she donated to the School.

In a metaphorical way, she knew how to show the history of the institution, the present and future of the School, the doors of which will always be opened for her, she emphasized.
