ARTEMISA, Cuba, Feb 28 (ACN) The members of the children's audiovisual creation project El Kikirito, based in Güira de Melena(western Cuba), are getting ready to participate at the 2nd International Educational Film Festival (MICE by its Spanish acronym), to be held May 6-15, 2022, in Cuba.
The short film Amor de cartas ("Love of Letters"), made by the 15 children and adolescents who make up El Kikirito, is the proposal chosen to take part in the event, young Veronica Games, one of the members, told the Cuban News Agency.
This edition, she added, has as a novelty the movement of activities to some territories where there are children's projects associated with the Camara Chica network, sponsored by the British Council, such as Pinar del Rio, Artemisa, Santa Clara and Holguin.
Among the most outstanding activities, Games indicated, are exhibitions of films made in educational environments, screenings of professional films for children, theoretical meetings and exchanges of educommunicative experiences, contests of audiovisuals made by Cuban children and young people, conferences on educommunication, audiovisual education workshops, exhibitions and concerts.
Germany will be the guest country at this year's edition, presenting professional audiovisual productions for children.
It will also have the support of the Spanish region of Extremadura, and the special participation of Mexico, due to the long tradition of collaboration with the Audiovisual Universe of Latin American and Caribbean Children (UNIAL).
