HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 10 (acn) The performance in Cuba this week of famous Paraguayan classic guitarist Berta Rojas was underlined on Friday by the local press in Asuncion.
Rojas participated in the 6th edition of Havana's Leo Brouwer Festival and expressed her satisfaction for the reception received on the island, where she made her presentation in the legendary Marti Theater of this capital, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.
Information published by the Ultima Hora newspaper points out that there she interpreted pieces by maestro Agustin Pio with guests like Spaniard Ricardo Gallen and Mexican Josue Tacoronte.
The article adds that the Paraguayan also played together with Cuban clarinetist Aristides Porto to perform the Brazilian piece "Choro de Saudade" and "Preludio en do menor", with arrangements by Cardozo Ocampo, and also with the String Ensemble of Havana.
Among artists participating in the successful Festival were Fito Paez, Pancho Cespedes, Pablo Milanes, Haydee Milanes, Jordi Savall, Chucho Valdes, Yo Yo Ma and the Latin American Quartet.
For her performances, Berta Rojas has been nominated on two occasions to a Latin Grammy, as underlined in this city by radio and television stations.
